Mahoning County
District Board of Health

Did you know?

Serving size is the amount of food that makes up one Food Pyramid serving. When trying to eat a healthy diet, it’s important to know how much you’re eating. Measuring and weighing your food can seem tedious and time-consuming at first, but you’ll soon learn what a single serving looks like without measuring or weighing it.

Grains (6-11 servings)
Fruits and Vegetables (5-7 servings)
Dairy (2-3 servings for men and 3-4 servings for women)
Meats (2-3 servings)
Fats, Oils and Sweets (use sparingly)

A Mission of Health & Safety

The District Board of Health is a public agency that provides public health services to the 175,000 residents of the General Health District in Mahoning County.  Health districts are political subdivisions created by the Ohio Legislature in 1919.  The Mahoning health district comprises the townships and villages of Mahoning County and contracts with the cities of Campbell, Canfield and Struthers.  The District Board of Health strives to maintain a standard of excellence, responsiveness and continuous improvement in all of our public health services that our communities have come to expect from their local health department.
